This act once again caused concern among the returnees, who already decades after the war face a feeling of insecurity and an inadequate reaction of the competent institutions.
The Commission of the Regional Committee of SDA Bosanska Krajina-Prijedor held an emergency session and strongly condemned the attack and called on the competent institutions of the Republika Srpska entity, especially the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS, to shed light on this case as soon as possible.
– We expect the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS to make every effort so that this case, as well as the previous attacks on the Islamic community and its employees, is fully elucidated. Harsh sanctions against the perpetrators are necessary to prevent further repetition of such acts of vandalism. – said Feni Edin Šupuković, president of the Commission.
He warned that such attacks send messages of insecurity and fear to returnees.
– Such incidents seriously call into question the ability of institutions to protect returnees, who are one of the most sensitive categories of citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina – added Šupuković.
In light of recent events, the Commission of the Regional Board of SDA Bosanska Krajina-Prijedor calls on the mayor of Prijedor, Slobodan Javor, and the City Security Forum to clearly and unequivocally condemn these attacks.
– Their public reaction is crucial for sending a message to the returnees that they are not alone and that the safety of all citizens is a priority – it was concluded at the session of the Commission.
