Ćatić was found guilty of coming to the house of 90-year-old J.Đ. in the settlement of Tumare, City of Lukavac, and caused injuries to the victim that led to bleeding and her death. He then took the victim, whose body has not been found to this day, out of the house together with the blanket, sheet and mattress at around 02.16 a.m. to a location known to him, and took her mobile phone as well.
After the pronouncement of the first-instance verdict, the defendant’s custody was extended, which can last for a maximum of nine months, counting from the day the verdict was pronounced until he was ordered to serve the prison sentence.
This judgment is not legally binding because the parties have the right to appeal it.
