A citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina (44) was arrested on Thursday evening at the Šcepan Polje border crossing after a gun and ammunition were found in the trunk of the vehicle he was driving, which is owned by the Honorary Consulate of Belarus in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As announced on Friday by the Montenegrin Police Administration, the police officers of the Border Police Sector, undertaking activities to suppress all forms of cross-border crime through inter-sector intelligence cooperation, deprived a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina of his freedom on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of “illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosive materials”.
– Last night, at the Šćepan Polje border crossing, police officers controlled a foreign operational person of interest – B.Ž. (44) from Sarajevo, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who was driving an Audi A8 vehicle, owned by the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Belarus in Bosnia and Herzegovina – say the police.
Upon inspection of the person and vehicle, they add, in the trunk, in a travel bag under the wardrobe, a firearm was found – a “Glock 45 FS” pistol with a frame and 17 pieces of ammunition.
The state prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Nikšić was informed of the event, who, after collecting information, ordered that B.Ž. deprived of his liberty on suspicion of having committed the said criminal act.
The police from B.Ž. temporarily confiscated the gun and ammunition.
