The majority of educators at HNK went on a general strike on November 26, 2024, demanding a 15 percent salary increase.
The representatives of the education union and the Government of the Croatian National Academy of Sciences were close to an agreement in December, when the Government was ready to offer a raise of 13 percent cumulatively, but the unionists insisted on the requested 15 percent.
The strike was terminated by the decision of the Municipal Court in Mostar on December 26, which ruled that the continuation of the strike endangers children’s right to education.
Unofficially, it has been learned that another meeting of representatives of the cantonal government and the education union should be held today in Mostar.
