In order to make up for their lack, specialist doctors from other health institutions are recruited every year, who, if necessary, perform specialist medical examinations and provide expert medical opinions to the users of health services in the Brčko District of BiH.
This practice will continue in 2025.
The Government of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina has given consent to the Department of Health and other services to hire experts from the necessary medical fields in order to ensure the tertiary level of health care, as well as to ensure help and support for secondary health care in the PJU “Health Center Brčko” for the year 2025.
“It is an already established practice to hire specialist doctors from several clinical centers in our health system in order to improve the quality of services,” said the head of the Department of Health at that institution, Asmir Mujanović.
In the past few years, the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina has invested multi-million funds to send dozens of doctors from the local health system to specializations and sub-specializations.
“Given that their return is expected only in a year or two, a decision was made to temporarily engage specialist doctors from other clinical centers to enable users of health services from the Brčko District to have quality and comprehensive treatment in our health institutions,” emphasizes Mujanović.
For the engagement of specialist doctors from other clinical centers in the health system of the Brčko District of BiH in 2024, 920 thousand KM have been allocated from the budget of that local community.
