Winter days, after the melting of the snow, left behind traces of mud, garbage and other small waste, which not only spoil the aesthetic appearance of the municipality, but can also pose a threat to health, especially for children who play on playgrounds.
More than 15,000 kg of waste was collected today, which significantly improved the appearance of our municipality – it is stated in the press release of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.
On Friday, January 17, the cleaning campaign will continue in the settlements of Čengić Vila and Malta, while on Saturday, January 18, the Wilson Promenade and the Park of National Minorities in the “Željeznička” Community Center will be cleaned.
The Municipality invites all citizens to join the Municipality’s employees, councilors, members of associations and non-governmental organizations, utility companies, JP ONSA, Civil Protection in a joint cleaning action on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., and the meeting place is at the building of Elektroprivreda BiH on Wilson’s Promenade.
The cleaning action will continue next week, which will cover all 18 local communities in Novi Sarajevo.
This action is not only a physical cleaning of our municipality, but reminds us of our shared responsibility in preserving the cleanliness and beauty of our community. The maintenance of public areas requires the continuous engagement of all – competent utility companies, institutions and citizens.
