Cvijanović said that “in the language of contemporary media, the title of this news would probably read – The Son of God came down among people and became one of us”.
– The light of this magnificent and unique event illuminates our hearts and homes to this day, just as that bright star illuminated the Bethlehem cave at the moment of Christ’s birth. In the glory and honor of our baby and His coming into the world, we celebrate Christmas, as a holiday of true joy that is only multiplied by sharing. That’s why I am extremely happy this year, as well as in previous years, and I am grateful to all of you that we are gathered today on such a beautiful occasion – said Cvijanović.
Cvijanović pointed out that she “wants to be reminded of the values that are universal and, as such, shared by everyone, regardless of religion, nation or skin color, during these holidays.”
– Our traditional Christmas greeting, from the very beginning of this address, begins with the word peace. Peace, just like love, is one of the fundamental universal values, immanent in different cultures and religions. All of us as people are called to live in peace with each other, and an important precondition for peace is mutual respect and understanding – stated Cvijanović.
Cvijanović emphasized that “differences within BiH additionally point to the necessity of a higher level of mutual tolerance, with the aim of avoiding misunderstandings and conflicts”.
– It goes without saying that we love and protect our own, but we should also respect and appreciate others who are different from us. To cherish our own identity, inherit our traditions and celebrate our holidays, but never deny the right of others to do the same. To resolve all open issues through dialogue and conversation, without expecting that someone else will do it with a magic wand, to the detriment of one of us – said Cvijanović.
Cvijanović said that she “deeply believes that any domestic agreement, no matter how flawed it is and no matter how long it takes to harmonize it, is incomparably better than any solution that is the result of foreign interventionism”.
– Everything that was foreign and imposed by force had a limited shelf life in these areas. In contrast, the only long-term solution for BiH can be the one reached by its constituent peoples through compromise, with their own will and their own minds. Dear friends, distinguished dignitaries, thank you for enlarging this dear and important event for me with your presence – said Cvijanović.
First of all, Cvijanović wished everyone “good health, joy and happiness in your homes, as well as personal and professional success.”
– I wish all of us to be calm and at peace with ourselves, and then, of course, with each other. With these sincere wishes, I once again warmly greet you with our most beautiful Christmas greeting – Peace of God, Christ is born! – said Cvijanovic.
A large number of dignitaries attended the Christmas reception. The Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska Radovan Višković, ministers in the Government of the RS, MPs in the NSRS, MPs and delegates of both chambers of the PS BiH were present.
The Chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers Borjana Krišto, the Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac and the Minister of Justice in the Council of Ministers Davor Bunoza were also present, as well as the President of FBiH Lidija Bradara and the Vice President of the House of Representatives PS BiH Marinko Čavara, and representatives of almost the entire diplomatic corps in Bosnia and Herzegovina. .
