INTRODUCING SAMIR PURIĆ “We will learn most things in life by ourselves…”

We present to you a young man from Zenica from the world of the non-governmental sector, who makes our everyday life better and more interesting.

In the country and region, which is at the bottom of the European and world levels, when it comes to the economy and business conditions, we all need an exchange of positive stories and experiences.

We are sure that you will be surprised how many successful people live around us. Some of these people you know, some you have never heard of. Maybe someone’s story or answer will inspire you to try to do something similar or more.

We are talking about Samir Purić, a citizen of Zenica who has no borders, and below we bring you an interview with this versatile young man conducted by Salih Dizdarević, a volunteer of the Youth Organization “REaktiv” Zenica.

For starters, can you introduce yourself?

Samir Purić, third-year student at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica, Department of Cultural Studies.

Do you volunteer in any organizations, if so tell us which organizations?

Council Network/Council of Students of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Association for Social, Cultural and Creative Development Zora Zenica, Association of Students of the Faculty of Philosophy Zenica.

What is the highest position in those organizations that you have achieved?

President of the Network of the Student Council of Zenica – Doboj Canton (2013/14), vice-president of the Network of Councils/Council of Students of Bosnia and Herzegovina (2013/14), and currently I am the PR of the Association for Social, Cultural and Creative Development Zora Zenica, a trainer in the Network of Councils /Council of students of Bosnia and Herzegovina and president of the Association of students of the Faculty of Philosophy.

What are your expectations from young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

Better said, what do I expect from myself? I expect (but also believe in it) that we understand the essence of self-actualization, self-knowledge. Although it is a complex process, but the basis is in it. To understand that in every life situation we can choose to either be a victim or to learn. It is from young people that I expect them to always choose to learn and change themselves, to have a critical opinion in the world of mediocrity and to be patient in that process, so changes and success will surely come.

Do you help your local community and in what way?

The biggest contribution that I currently make to my local community is reflected in the transfer of experiences and knowledge that I have gained through my activism and the implementation of projects and activities that I do with NGO Zora. I highlight the career counseling and information workshops in secondary schools.

What is the biggest thing you have done for your local community?

Every action, project or workshop is equally important if we believe enough that it will bring some change. I believe.

What is your opinion about the government in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

Let me talk about the government, please…

On the political scene of Bosnia and Herzegovina or in that reality show, there are individuals who believe and truly want positive changes, and I believe that there will be more and more of them. I am especially happy that BiH the public is beginning to see such individuals.

What are your goals for the coming year?

Doing things I enjoy, finishing my third year of college, continuing to be active, motivating young people and being smiling.

Describe for us one day of your year?

Every day is a new beginning, so you should use it, bring love, desires, motivation and knowledge, that is, something new that will make it different from yesterday.

What is your unfulfilled dream?

“A dream is what is desired, and life is an awakening”. You can achieve everything you truly want. (Need to find the limit.)

Can you tell us a motivating message for young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

If the system is bad, we don’t have to be bad either. We will learn most things in life by ourselves…
