American stocks fell Friday, while investors considered the path of future reduction in interest rates by the federal reserves and followed the latest events from the Middle East.
The S & P 500 dropped by 0.3%, while Nasdaq Composite fell by 0.6%. Dow Jones Industrial Average was traded right under stagnation.
Shares of chips were under pressure after the Wall Street Journal report so that the exemptions for some semiconductor producers could now can abolish. Nvidia fell by about 1%, while Broadcom and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing fell by more than 1%. Vaneck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) fell by almost 1%.
S & P 500 started trading with an increase after the Governor of the Federal Reserve Christopher Waller said that the central bank could reduce interest rates already in July. “I think we’re in a position that we can do it already in July,” Waller said during the “Squawk Box” interview.
“That would be my opinion, whether the board will agree with it or not,” he added.
This comes after the President of the FED Jerome Powell said the Central Bank has not rushed to reduce the data dependent, especially because the President Donald Trump will affect the economy, seebiz. S & P 500 closed something lower that day after those statements.
Trump was redrised by Powell on Thursday, saying that the President of the FED costs the United States “Hundreds of billion dollars” by postponing interest rate reductions. The President on the eve of the FED decision said that “stupid” Powell “is unlikely to reduce” interest rates.
Tensions around Israeli-Iranian conflicts also remained high, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allegedly orders the Jerusalem Army to hit “strategic goals” in Iran, as well as “government goals.”
Trump is considering the direct participation of the United States in Tehran attack, and the White House said on Thursday that it would make the final decision in the next two weeks.
