An inmate who spent just under two months in the White Field jail on fighting charges was subjected to brutal abuse and multiple rapes by his cellmate, leading to the upholding of five felony charges against the VA
It is written in the court documents that the victim reported the attacks to the commander, but he withdrew it under threats, and he was not even allowed to change his prison room – because the rapist told him that he had his men everywhere.
According to the allegations in the case, the injured party stayed in the prison there from August 26, 2024 to October 22, 2024, and immediately upon arrival he was placed in a cell with seven or eight other prisoners, including VA
In the court documents, it is stated that the first ten days passed without incident, and the victim was described as a calm and withdrawn person, who during that period made coffee for his roommates and did small jobs.
The situation then drastically worsened.
“The first 10 days of his stay in prison passed without any problems, otherwise he was calm, withdrawn, silent and obedient, he made coffee for them, greeted them with breakfast and everything they needed. After about 10 days, while he was cleaning the tiles, a task given to him by the VA, V. approached him and hit him in the neck area with his hand and told him to clean harder and better. At that time, there were other prisoners in the room, however, none of them saw the blow”, they quote plaintiffs’ words of the injured party.
He said that not long after, the other prisoners went for a walk, and that now the defendant said that he would stay with him to train a little, after which he began to beat him brutally.
“After that, he beat him several times with his hands on the head, the back, the ribs, and all that in parts of the body where there would be no scars left for others to see. On one occasion, while he was cleaning the toilet, he beat him so hard in the back and ribs that he could not get out of bed for seven days. Even then, he did not tell the commanders that V. had beaten him, nor did he complain to the other prisoners.”
After 15 days, the text adds, he raped him for the first time in the toilet.
“He told him, ‘Don’t V. please, she’s ugly,’ he scolded him, but when he told him that he was going to beat him…”, it is written in the document of the High Court of Bielopolska.
He said that immediately afterwards he “knocked on the door, called the commander and a conductor came”, to whom he told what the convict had done to him.
“However, no one did anything and he continued to be in the room with A. When he returned to the room after telling the commander what A. had done to him, he had no problem with A. He just told him he was a spy and spat on him when the commanders came out.”
It is added that after two days, the VA “nicely asked” him to tell the commanders that he had lied about everything, and the latter in turn told him that he would not touch him again.
“He also told him that the only thing that matters to him is that this doesn’t go to court, and that he won’t touch him again. Out of fear of V., he decided to tell the commanders that he was lying, that is, to deny what he told… just so that he wouldn’t touch him again. He was afraid to go to other cells because he told him that he had his own people, who would meet him there and break him and that he would have a hell there, worse than with him in the room.”
He told the prosecutors that everything was calm for ten days afterwards, that he really had no problems with V., but that after that time “he continued to hit him on the head with his hands”:
“He doesn’t even know how many blows he received, and he was silent again, because he thought that his own would beat him, so he couldn’t ask to be moved to another room, and he wasn’t mentally ready to be in solitary confinement.”
After he still dared to tell his roommates that he would ask for a transfer, V. told him – “Let’s go to the toilet”, pointing in that direction with his hand. Immediately, he says, he knew what was waiting for him there…
Another rape followed…
“… He went to the room and lay down on the bed, crying. V. returned to his bed, again from his bed he threatened that if he told his mother, he would kill him and that he would kill her too when she came to visit. He repeated that he had people. After this second time… he hit him every day”.
After about 10 days, it says in the files, another “call” to the toilet and another rape…
Beating and for therapy
The injured party told the prosecutors that he was taking therapy for anxiety and depression in prison, but that the defendant asked to leave it for him.
“He did not leave the therapy, but drank the same. He was facing sideways in relation to V. when he approached him and asked if he had left the therapy, when he said that he had drunk, he hit him with all his strength in the ribs, knocking him over. This was seen by the prisoners who were in the room with them, three or four of them. He remembers that he was EH, MM and then he heard him say – ‘Brother, how suddenly did you hit him, with what force, could you break the ribs’.”
He said the attacker then went back to his bed, and that’s when he decided to report him.
“At first he cried a little, then he waited for the commander to come in and told him that he had hit him hard for not leaving him therapy and asked to be taken to the doctor, and the commander told him to wait a little while the undertakers would come so that he could report V., and after that they took him to the doctor, and V. to solitary confinement. The next day he called his mother on the phone and told her to call a lawyer”… When he was at the doctor, he just listened to him with earphones in the rib area, gave him some pills, and asked him what he was suffering from, and what he hadn’t reported before. He pointed out that he had only been to the prison doctor once, and that was on the day when A. reported the mistreatment.
