Helez emphasized that the NSRS has been violating the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina for a long time, trying to acquire competences that are not within its jurisdiction.
“NSRS has only become a tool for provoking nationalist tensions in the country, which does not bring any benefit to the citizens. Unfortunately, the Dayton Agreement allowed a smaller entity in BiH to take over many responsibilities. I call on the authorities of the RS to, instead of dealing with issues that fall under the jurisdiction of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, focus their efforts on passing the Law on Minimum Wage, in order to improve conditions for workers in this entity, who have the lowest wages in Europe,” Helez said.
The minister also emphasized that he always called on international institutions and the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina to get involved and respond to the unconstitutional actions of the RS and NSRS authorities.
“I am pleased that they reacted, and I especially appreciate the decision of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, which recognized its key role in protecting the Constitution. The High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, made his decision. Those who choose to ignore this decision can expect the same fate as the president of the smaller BiH entity, Milorad Dodik.
