As part of the ceremony, the documentary film “Sarajevo Divan – The Journey of One Manuscript” by author Amela Jordamović, produced by the Media Center of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be premiered.
The film follows the fascinating journey of the unique 16th-century Divan manuscript of Hafiz Shirazi, which is kept in Gazi Husrev Bey’s library, to restoration abroad.
Along with the story of the restoration and conservation of this valuable part of the manuscript heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the film explores the cultural and artistic influence of Hafiz, one of the greatest poets of all time, whose verses shaped not only Persian literature, but also inspired many international and domestic writers and great men. .
Hafiz’s Divan, with its extraordinary history, represents a bridge between different cultures, historical eras and artistic traditions.
The special focus of the film is placed on Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Gazi Husrev-bey library in Sarajevo, which preserves the written heritage of the world, testifying to the rich cultural and intellectual heritage of these areas.
By documenting this manuscript and its journey, the film emphasizes the importance of preserving world heritage and the role of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, the Gazi Husrev-bey library as its guardian.
As part of the celebration of the 488th anniversary of the Gazi Husrev-bey library, several certificates of appreciation will be awarded to organizations and individuals for their support, and a plaque for a special contribution to the work and development of the Gazi Husrev-bey library will be presented to Dr. Mustafa Cerić.
