During the visit, which was carried out as part of practical police training, the cadets were introduced to the functioning of the closed penitentiary in Zenica and the importance of cooperation between penitentiaries and police officers working to detect perpetrators of crimes.
The employees of the Zenica Correctional Institution showed the cadets the rooms where the convicted persons serve their prison terms as well as the detention units and introduced them to the type of crimes committed for which the convicted persons are serving long prison terms.
Director of KPZZT Zenica Rusmir Isak said that this visit is extremely important for the institute he manages, as well as for the cadets of the Police Academy of the FMUP.
– I would like to point out that this is the first visit by the cadets of the Police Academy of the Federal Ministry of Education and Culture to the Penitentiary – a closed correctional facility in Zenica. The education of future police officers in the field of enforcement of criminal sanctions in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina represents extremely important progress in creating a safer environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Only by improving cooperation and mutual understanding can we build a more efficient security system – said Isak.
The Director of the FMUP Police Academy, Ervin Mušinović, thanked Isak for the quick realization of the visit, pointing out that today the cadets of the FMUP Police Academy acquired exceptional knowledge about the system of execution of criminal sanctions in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
– From this point, symbolically, I consider it important to point out to you the importance of respecting the law and maintaining a high degree of professional integrity of a police officer. If you are ever tempted by someone offering you a bribe, remember that it is in the prison premises of Kazneno – the closed correctional facility in Zenica, which you are visiting today, that corrupt persons are serving prison sentences – said Mušinović.
The Police Academy of the FMUP and KPZZT Zenica will continue to improve cooperation in the field of education of the cadets of the Police Academy of the FMUP, but also the education of the officers of the KPZZT Zenica in specialist types of training, it was announced from the FMUP.
