“Today we are at the site of the murder of the first civilian victims of the war, Suada and Olga. The name of Muhidin Šabanović, who was also killed on April 5 in this place, has been unjustly neglected. We have joined the memory of the 1,601 murdered children of the besieged Sarajevo. We remember today all the citizens of Sarajevo who were brutally killed during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo.
Unfortunately, for the 11,541 citizens of Sarajevo who were killed in the aggression, I have only four judgments of the Hague Tribunal, and that is based on command responsibility. The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has not processed a single indictment on the issue of individual responsibility to date. We are dissatisfied with the inaction of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, because it is a fact that Sarajevo is the most documented city in terms of the siege, war crimes and everything we survived during the 1,425 days of the siege,” said Senida Karović, president of the Union of Civilian War Victims of KS.
She added that only from the judgments of the Hague Tribunal, the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina can file at least 100 indictments regarding individual responsibilities.
“Everything is available to them, by name and surname, but to date nothing has happened regarding terrorizing the citizens of Sarajevo,” added Karović.
