In a pleasant atmosphere and with the presence of a large number of representatives of Sarajevo media companies, Mayor Efendić summarized the projects realized in the past year, pointing out that 2024 was one of the most successful years for the Municipality of Novi Grad, announced the Municipality of Novi Grad.
The mayor thanked the public for the objective and timely information about what the Municipality of Novi Grad is doing, and wished everyone present a happy and successful year 2025.
– 2024 is the year in which we implemented important infrastructure projects. The IX transversal was put into operation, which connects two parts of the municipality crossed by a railway line. Also, on June 8 last year, the “Wings of Freedom” monument was completed, then the Otoka stadium got new lighting and artificial grass. Two roundabouts were built in Džemala Bijedić Street, so that traffic section, which we worked on in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport of the KS, came to the fore – said Mayor Efendić.
He added that a lot has been invested in the infrastructure when it comes to the Mojmilo Forest Park, primarily the construction of footpaths and the lighting that has been installed.
– There are still about 200 meters left to reach the top of the Mojmilo hill, where we planned to place a large flag, as a monument to the 101st Motorized Brigade that defended Mojmilo during the aggression in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We believe that by building that big mast with the flag, there will be a much greater interest of citizens to stay in that area. The eco-house located in the area of Mojmilo Forest Park is currently being reconstructed, and it is planned that there will also be a catering facility there – said Chief Efendić.
He also said that 200 new parking spaces are currently being built at Alipašin Polje in phase B, and that for the first time, so-called parking spaces are being built. green parking, and that in the settlements, where space is available, they will continue with the construction of parking spaces in cooperation with local community councils, tenants and citizens.
He emphasized that the development of the municipality of Novi Grad will continue this year, and that the reconstruction of around 50 streets has already been contracted. Work on the renovation of the “Suncokret” kindergarten in Dobrinja is underway. Also, numerous other projects planned to be realized in 2025 have been contracted.
– We will try to arrange all parts of our municipality, approaches to buildings, our streets and a large number of smaller projects that change the space we live in – concluded Mayor Semir Efendić, according to the statement.
