The investigation established that on Saturday evening in Bedekovčina, not far from Zagreb, a 39-year-old woman was killed with a firearm by her 43-year-old husband, who later committed suicide with a firearm, said the Police Department of Krapina-Zagorje, and it was learned that the murdered woman was a mother of four children.
The investigation, led by the deputy of the County State Attorney’s Office in Zagreb, lasted all night.
“It was established that at around 1 a.m. tonight, a 43-year-old Croatian citizen killed a 39-year-old Croatian citizen with a firearm in a family home in Bedekovčina, after which he left the scene.
After searching the area, police officers found the dead body of a 43-year-old man who committed suicide with a firearm. The dead bodies were transported to the Institute for Forensic Medicine and Criminalistics in Zagreb,” said Zoran Lončar, spokesman for the PU Krapina-Zagorje.
The local authorities have learned that the murdered 39-year-old woman is the mother of four children, three of whom are minors.
This information was confirmed for the media by the head of the Municipality of Bedekovčina, Željko Odak, who said that the system now needs to take care of the children and that the necessary measures are being taken in this regard.
He also expressed his condolences to the family, especially the children. He added that he spoke with family members who said that there was nothing to indicate such a tragedy, reports Hina.
