“I am truly saddened by the news of the extensive damage done to this important symbol of cultural and spiritual heritage,” Crishock began, then continued:
“My thoughts are with the Islamic community of Brčko, with its chief imam, Mustafa ef. Gobeljić, and with all the citizens of Brčko faced with this tragedy. I would also like to commend the quick intervention of the firefighters and the police, whose efforts helped to prevent more damage, injury and loss human lives”.
The Majlis of the Islamic Community (MIZ) Brčko held an extraordinary session today regarding the fire in which the Hadži Paša mosque burned down early this morning, and the session was presided over by Mufti Vahid-ef from Tuzla. Fazlović.
The chief imam of the MIZ Brčko Mustafa-ef. Gobeljić expressed the hope that this beautiful mosque will be restored as soon as possible.
“I want to thank the institutions of the local government, first of all the Brčko District Fire Department and the Brčko District Police, who were immediately on the scene and made maximum efforts to save the building at least at the level it is in now. We are encouraged by numerous calls expressing readiness for solidarity and help. First of all, from our representatives from the higher levels of the Islamic community, reisul-ulema Husein-ef. Kavazović and mufti of Tuzlan Vahid-ef.
