The Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Una-Sana Canton of Dana charges him with the criminal offense of violent behavior towards two children.
According to the indictment, everything happened on December 20 last year, in the evening in Bihać.
According to reports, he approached an eleven-year-old and a thirteen-year-old who were walking, and asked them if they were throwing firecrackers.
When one of them told him that they threw firecrackers, but not in his yard, Čaušević hit him with a closed fist in the area of the head, on the left side of the face and lip.
The boy fell to the ground and briefly lost consciousness, and the accused then hit the other minor in the back of the head with a closed fist, cursing the mother at the same time.
He told them that he knew their fathers, that he knew where they lived, while threatening to kill their fathers.
As it is added, Čaušević caused fear in one minor, which caused him to urinate, at the same time causing him head injuries in the form of swelling and hematoma of the left eye region with a minor scar on the upper eyelid and swelling of the lower lip.
He inflicted injuries on the back of the head of another juvenile in the form of two parallel cuts on the head, and both persons suffered minor injuries.
Čaušević was arrested on December 20, and at the proposal of the Prosecutor’s Office, he was sentenced to one month’s detention due to the existence of special circumstances that justify the fear that he will repeat criminal acts punishable by a prison sentence of three years or more.
For the same reason, the Prosecution proposed extending custody after the indictment was filed, which the Municipal Court in Bihać accepted and extended custody to the accused Čaušević after the indictment was confirmed.
According to this decision, the detention can last for a maximum of one year, with the fact that the Court will control the justification of the detention after every 2 months from the date of the last decision on detention.
“Given that this is a crime committed to the detriment of two children, the Prosecution conducted the investigation with particular urgency, and in the proceedings, the validity of the indictment will be proven with the testimony of witnesses, experts and material evidence,” the Prosecution stated.
