Today’s visit was the opportunity to devise a strategy of action and steps after the meeting and touring areas and steps that will follow, which are aimed at the repair of the population and the community from the October of the Torrent Floods.
– Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia are much connected and slovenly means a lot when they can help Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the flood, we collected money from people and governments and we have projects for help and renewal. We want to see what needs here and where and how we can help, because we want to from the bottom of the heart – said Peter Tomažić, Secretary General of Caritas Slovenia.
CARITAS CEO of Bosnia and Herzegovina Tomo Knežević emphasized that Caritas Slovenia, as a true friend of Caritas Bosnia and Herzegovina, reacted after the flood from the first moment in accordance with the possibilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. – They had an initiative to come, visits and record needs, to help the right way. Honest thanks to everyone who is here with the intention of devising how to realize the help in the future and gratitude to the Mayor Ćatić for the allocated time and presented on the field.
– In the timing of the repair, each type of assistance and support is welcome with the aim of retaining the population in the area affected by floods. I thank Caritas Slovenia and Caritas of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for the expressed interest to involve the process of recovery of our community. Such natural accidents show us how many friends we have and how much mutual solidarity connects us. We presented our friends today everything that is necessary and sincerely hope that we will soon be able to solve how infrastructure and other needs in this area – said Mayor Ćatić.
Zvone Zhigon, Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in BiH, welcoming the Initiative of Caritas and the Department of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, to provide the necessary assistance to the affected local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reminded the fact that Bosnians and The Herzegovini twisted in Slovenia during the flood in Slovenia and were most valuable during the activity on field clearance.
