They do not agree with the decision, clearly underlining that they are not against raising wages for workers, but they are against disregarding their proposals to reduce the fiscal burden on work.
“The salary would again be a thousand marks and then the worker in the real sector would feel it. State institutions will profit here,” says Zoran Gazibarić, a member of the Economic and Social Council of FBiH and the Employers’ Association of SBK.
“Significant money will be spent on salary increases for those in state institutions because their incomes are linked to the average salary that will inevitably be increased by this Regulation. To present the real background of this to the public”, says Šaban Rizvić, a member of the Board of Directors of the SBK Employers’ Association.
Firms in the metal industry that export to the West have reduced the number of signed contracts due to the slowdown in economic growth in the European market. Foreign partners do not agree to an increase in product prices, because the jobs are pre-contracted, and they are not ready for a drastic increase in costs. “I am afraid that this measure will cause more dismissals, that it will increase illegal work. Illegal work means increased corruption. I have a feeling – like they did a terrorist attack. I would be glad if they would sit down one more time and think about how to do it,” says Snježana Kopruner, director of GS-TMT, reports FTV.
“Corona was, then some money from the budget was distributed, in the Ahbab style. And now it is offered! No, we will now increase the salary to 1000 KM, and then we will distribute the money flowing from the poor as we wish”, warns Šaban Rizvić, a member of the Management Board of the SBK Employers’ Association.
“What do you think when someone tells a company that has 700 employees in Travnik, in the area of Borca, that they should pay 300 marks more, instead of 700 marks? It is not normal for someone to expect that to be fulfilled. This was a measure that would fill the budget. According to us, for 800-900 million. But it will destroy the economy and transfer a good part of the workers to the employment office”, warns Gazibarić.
Businessmen call on the Government for a dialogue so that the fiscal reform would be fairer and show that it is a responsible government that makes political decisions that will affect the working-age population and the economy.
