– With great expectations, we welcome tomorrow’s meeting of the FBiH Government, the FBiH Economic and Social Council and the FBiH Employers’ Association, believing that solutions will be adopted that will simultaneously improve the standard of our workers and preserve the competitiveness of the economy, they state and add:
– We support the idea of increasing the minimum wage, aware of its importance for improving the living standards of our workers. However, we emphasize that this increase must be coordinated with concrete measures to relieve the economy, in order to ensure sustainable business.
They add that as an Association, they believe that freezing the salary contribution rate at the level found at the end of 2024, or at the level of the previous minimum wage, is key to mitigating rising business costs.
– Only in this way is it possible to avoid additional burdens on businessmen, preserve their competitiveness on the domestic and foreign markets, and enable further investment in growth and development. The fate of the economy largely depends on the measures that will be adopted tomorrow. We appeal to all meeting participants to show understanding for the real challenges facing the economy, and to jointly find a balance between wage growth and the sustainability of the business environment. Our goal is to ensure that the increase in the minimum wage is an incentive for the growth of workers’ standards, but also that it does not threaten the operations of companies that are the foundation of the economy, they stated in the announcement.
