BIHAMK warns: Suspension of traffic on nine road directions

Due to large amounts of snow, obstructed vehicles or snow drifts, traffic has been suspended for all categories of vehicles on the roads:

– Bihać-Bosanski Petrovac-Ključ,
– Bosansko Grahovo-Drvar-Bosanski Petrovac,
– Glamoč-Mlinište,
– Drvar-Glamoch,
– Kupres-Novo Selo,
– Kotor Varoš-Teslić (Borja),
– Banja Luka-Kotor Varoš-Kneževo,
– Vareš-Olovo i
– Posusje-Blidinje.

Passenger vehicles can travel on the main road Ključ-Sanski Most, but with difficulty.

Traffic on the Gradačac-Pelagićevo and Tuzla-Bijeljina roads has been suspended for vehicles over 7.5 tons.

Over the Rogoj (Sarajevo-Foča) and Han Pogled (Han-Pijesak-Vlasenica) passes, traffic is prohibited for motor vehicles with trailers and tow trucks.

Snow continues to hamper traffic in most of Bosnia, while in Herzegovina the road is wet in places. We especially warn about sections over mountain passes, where there is trampled snow on the road, and on these sections the use of chains is mandatory for trucks.

Additional difficulties for drivers are caused by strong wind, which creates drifts of snow.

Due to the weight of the snow on numerous sections, trees are often knocked down on the road.

BIHAMK advises drivers not to go on the road without a major need, and if they do travel, not to go on the road without appropriate winter equipment.

Due to bad winter conditions, traffic for goods vehicles at the Izačić border crossing was suspended. At the Gradiška border crossing, the frequency of passenger vehicles at the entrance to Bosnia and Herzegovina has been increased. There are no long delays for passenger vehicles at other border crossings.

On the occasion of the religious holiday of Catholic Christmas, the transport of explosive materials is prohibited in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina until midnight tonight.

Traffic for vehicles over 5 tons of the maximum permissible weight is prohibited at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Freight vehicles over 5 t are diverted to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses can use GP Šepak. Freight vehicles can drive on GP Šepak from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 22:00 to 06:00.
