Participants and bearers of surveillance activities were market surveillance institutions from all CEFTA member countries.
During this action, chargers for mobile phones and electric cookers were controlled. The choice of the mentioned types of products is the result of a mutual agreement, taking into account the criteria regarding the prevalence and frequency of use of electrical products, as well as the type of danger that certain electrical products can represent for consumers.
The market surveillance agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the market inspections of the Republic Administration for Inspection Affairs and the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs have successfully implemented surveillance activities according to the Order on electrical equipment intended for use within certain voltage limits (“Official Gazette of BiH”, number 98/09 ).
On the basis of visual and administrative control, samples of mobile phone chargers and water kettles were selected, which were subjected to laboratory tests, where it was determined that the samples taken did not meet the prescribed safety requirements. The tested product models pose a serious risk of electric shock to users.
Appropriate measures were taken in accordance with the above. One model of the kettle has been withdrawn from the market in the amount of 86 pieces. Also, one model of mobile phone charger in the amount of 103 pieces was withdrawn from the market and the same amount was destroyed.
