Wall Street: S & P 500 rose third consecutive day

The S & P 500 index recorded a small gain on Tuesday because investors relied on gains from the previous session, which are greatly encouraged to hope that American customs will be a narrower band.

The wide market index added 0.16% and closed on 5,776.65, while Nasdaq Composite received 0.46% and ended at 18,271.86. Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 4.18 points, or 0.01%, at 42,587.50.

Investors looked mostly out of data on consumer confidence for March published on Tuesday, which reflected a significant decline in the short-term consequences of consumers in the USA on income, business and working conditions.

The monthly confidence in Conference Board has fallen to 92.9, below the 93.5 Dow Jones forecast. The measure for future expectations fell to 65.2, the lowest reading in 12 years and significantly below 80, which is considered a recession signal that is ahead.

“Mood continues to weaken between investors, consumers and companies because the economic concern and uncertainty of economic policy take the tribute,” said Bret Kenwell, an American investment analyst in Etoro. “Until it is more security in tariff and macro plan, mood and trust remain vulnerable.”

Kenwell emphasized that this week’s gross domestic product and personal consumption expenditure, from which the latter serves as the desired measure of the federal reserves, as well as the employment report for the next week, could further clarify the state of the economy, seebiz.

Wall Street was recently on the edge due to the possible increase in inflation and slow down economic growth while waiting for the reciprocal customs of the President Donald Trump that is expected 2. April. Investors received delay on Monday because of news that the white house could narrow the scope of customs that will take effect.

Trump later told reporters so that “many countries could give relief” on reciprocal customs. He added that customs duties on certain sectors, such as pharmaceutical and car, will still arrive in the “near future”.

The news was sharply raised shares on Monday, the Dow jumped more than 600 points, which was a strong day in several difficult weeks for the market. At one point earlier in March, the S & P 500 is closed in the correction area.
