The technology has recently shaken because the increasingly confronting the trade attitude of the White House, especially against China, crashes in the mood in the sector.
China said overnight that no trade talks with the United States are not kept. The Chinese Ministry’s spokesman HPP Yadong said that “all statements” should be rejected in connection with the progress of bilateral negotiations. He also called for the abolition of “unilateral” customs.
These remarks followed that the President Donald Trump said he was willing to take a less confronting approach to the commercial negotiations with Beijing. Furthermore, the Minister of Finance Scott Bessent said on Wednesday that the United States has a “opportunity for a great deal” in trade, seebiz. Chinese imports are subject to US Customs of 145%.
Bearing in mind the lack of progress in trade negotiations with China, Ross Mayfield, an investment analyst in Baird, was cautious in terms of climb on Thursday.
“I don’t believe that move,” he said in the CNBC interview. “China was quite explicit overnight that the negotiations are not in progress. There is still a certain confidence that at least the administration is about to deal, unlike the tariffs on crazy rates. There is potentially somewhat remaining optimism from yesterday.”
Nevertheless, investors received good news on Thursday afternoon when the Finance Minister Scott Bessent said that the Trump Administration could achieve the “Understanding Agreement” about the South Korea “already next week.”
The S & P 500 index was 3.3% of 2. April, the day Trump announced its new import policy from the USA. Since then, Dow fell 5.1%, while Nasdaq lost 2.5%.
