The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, announced the possibility of a vote on his dismissal at the next referendum.
“The objective and impartial CRTA announced to the public that the vast majority of citizens are in favor of my dismissal. There is no more credible source, neither for the international community, nor for political parties in Serbia, than that non-governmental organization.
I fought for the people and the people are my strength. If these statements by CRTE are true, it is impossible for me to remain in the position of the President of Serbia, and therefore, it is necessary for the opposition parties to submit only 67 signatures, and they have over 80, to hold an advisory referendum on the President of Serbia,” said Vučić on his Instagram profile.
“The offer is more than fair”
Vučić added that legitimacy is the most important thing in politics, and sovereignty always stems from the will of the people.
“I think the offer is more than fair, and it is good that everyone in this country stops pretending that they care about some construction volumes and that we finally put things in their place.
Contrary to the insulted, I was never interested in the government as such, I was and still am only interested in the progress of Serbia. Serbia must not stop. Long live Serbia”, said Vučić.
The majority of citizens in Serbia support students
By the way, the results of the latest CRTA public opinion survey say that as many as 61 percent of Serbian citizens support the student protests and blockades that followed the fall of the canopy in Novi Sad.
“Those who do not support the protests are mostly older people or citizens with basic education,” said Vojislav Mihailović, head of Crtina research, reports Nova.rs.
The majority of Serbian citizens (48 percent) believe that the political responsibility for the fall of the canopy should be borne by the relevant ministers, and only then by the president (39 percent).
CRTA (Center for Research, Transparency and Responsibility) is a non-governmental organization in Serbia dedicated to strengthening democracy, the rule of law and the protection of human rights. It was founded with the aim of improving political responsibility, transparency and engagement of citizens in political processes.
