The Acting Prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton submitted a proposal to the Municipal Court in Kalesija to determine a measure of custody for six persons suspected of the criminal offense of illegal possession of weapons or explosive substances. The detention measure was proposed for Meha Salkić (46), Araz Alić (52), Mehmed Bešić (50) from Kalesija, Slobodan Tripković (62) from Osmak, Nurija Gerović (41) from Bratunac and Halid Bosankić (46) from Živinice.
They are suspected of illegally acquiring, keeping, selling and exchanging firearms, ammunition and weapon parts in the area of Tuzla Canton and several places in Republika Srpska, acting according to a previous agreement, between February and June 2026. There is a well-founded suspicion that in the mentioned period, in order to obtain illegal property benefits, they made contacts with each other and with other persons interested in purchasing weapons, agreed on types and quantities, prices, places and times of handover, and on several occasions organized and realized the purchase and sale of various types of firearms and ammunition for pre-agreed amounts of money.
We remind you that on June 9, 2026, by order of the Prosecutor’s Office and with the order of the Municipal Court of Kalesija, investigators of the SKP MUP TK conducted searches at several locations in Kalesija and Živinice, and in cooperation with the MUP of the RS in the area of Bratunac, Šeković and Osmak. During the search, a certain amount of firearms, ammunition, explosive devices and weapon parts, as well as mobile phones and other items that can be linked to the commission of criminal acts, were found and confiscated. After the criminal investigation, they were handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office yesterday.
The acting prosecutor ordered the investigation and interrogated the suspects.
