Fikret Hadžić from Lukavac, who was sentenced to 24 years in prison in 2002 for the triple murder and attempted murder of another man, is a free man as of today.

Hadžija, who served a multi-year sentence in Zenica Penitentiary and Tuzla Penitentiary, became known to the wider public after the statement: “Don’t, Hadžija, we won’t touch you anymore. And you won’t.”
Trial and conflicting views
The judicial epilogue resulted in a sentence of a total of 24 years in prison. He received 21 years for the murders, while an additional three years were imposed on him because of the letter to the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In that letter, he demanded that the family be fined “at least KM 10” for the physical attack on him, threatening that otherwise he would kill them himself.
While Hadžić insisted on defending his honor and protection from abuse, the only surviving member of the family strongly denied those allegations. He described Hadžić as a person with psychological problems, claiming that the motive for the attack was purely personal and the result of long-standing conflicts, reports N1.
