Initial suspicions that the death of a man found in Sarajevo’s Dobrinja neighborhood was the result of an accident proved to be incorrect, after a police investigation during the evening led to the arrest of three murder suspects. It all started when the citizens informed the Dobrinja Police Station that there was a lifeless body of a man on the asphalt in the street of the Dobrinj Hospital, with the assumption that it was a fall from a height. Police officers immediately went to the scene, where they confirmed the allegations in the report.
The doctor of the Institute for Emergency Medical Assistance of Sarajevo Canton declared death, and the identity of the deceased was soon established – it was AM, born in 1990 in Sarajevo. The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Canton of Sarajevo, who was in charge of the investigation, was informed about the case. Investigations on the ground were carried out by members of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.
Although the first information indicated the possibility of suicide or an accident, further investigation revealed certain illogicalities that changed the course of the case. The police, through intensive work on elucidating all the circumstances of the 36-year-old’s death, came to new knowledge. As a result of operational activities, three men from Sarajevo were arrested in the evening – NP (1999), A.Š. (2000) and D.Ć. (1993). They are suspected of having committed the crime of murder together.
The suspects are currently being held in the official premises of the Sarajevo Canton MUP Police Department, where criminal investigation is ongoing.
The investigation continues, and it is expected that the competent institutions will shed light on all the circumstances of this case in the coming days.
