Investigators of the Criminal Police Sector of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton have been carrying out an extensive police operation in the area of Tuzla Canton and Republika Srpska since the early hours of the morning, due to suspicion of committing crimes related to the illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials.
As announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the proceedings are carried out according to the orders of the Municipal Court in Kalesija, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Tuzla Canton. As FTV learns, 14 were arrested.
As part of the action, searches are carried out at several locations in the area of the municipality of Kalesija and the town of Živinica. At the same time, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, i.e. the Zvornik Police Department, police activities are also carried out in the area of Bratunac, Šeković and Osmak.
Investigative actions are undertaken due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that criminal offenses have been committed under Article 371, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which refers to illegal possession of weapons or explosive substances.
For now, the competent institutions have not announced more details about the results of the search, including possible arrests or the discovery of weapons and other disputed items.
It is expected that after the end of the police activities, the Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton and the Police Directorate of the MUP of TK will inform the public about further steps and the outcome of this action.
