The trial of the suspended President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ranko Debevac, and other defendants for several criminal offenses continued without the presence of the public due to the protection of secret information.
The prosecutor of the Special Department of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, Medina Džerahović, proposed the exclusion of the public, stating that the hearing of a witness who worked in the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) and who will present classified information is scheduled.
– The actions he performed are an official secret – said the prosecutor.
Judge Ajla Papović-Mujan said that the Defense of Osman Mehmedagić also requested the exclusion of the public. After the other defenders agreed with this proposal, the public was excluded.
Debevec was accused of abuse of position or authority, falsification of an official document, receiving a reward or other form of benefit for the purpose of influence peddling, illegal wiretapping and recording, as well as false representation and violation of the Law on Gender Equality. Mehmedagić, the former director of OSA, was charged with abuse of office and falsification of an official document. The employee of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milisav Pijuk, who is accused of unauthorized wiretapping, false representation and violation of the Law on Gender Equality, is on trial with them.
Most of the hearings in this case have been closed to the public until now, reports BIRN BiH.
