The acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office TK made a proposal to the judge for the preliminary proceedings of the Municipal Court in Banovići to determine a measure of custody for Meksud Jamaković (44) and Esad Jamaković (35) from Banovići due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that they have committed the extended criminal offense of aggravated theft and the criminal offenses of theft, preventing evidence and damaging other people’s property.
They are suspected of having committed several crimes in the area of Banovići on the night of April 11 and 12, 2026, with the aim of obtaining illegal property benefits.
They tried and partially alienated low-voltage and high-voltage electric cables at several locations on the premises of RMU Banovići, which caused damage to the mine of at least 10,000 KM. Also, they are suspected of having previously stolen a car that they used to commit other criminal acts, and then set it on fire with the aim of destroying evidence and making the evidence more difficult. Damage of about 13,000 KM was caused to the owner of the vehicle. On the same night, they damaged the inventory at the children’s playground in the village of Treštenica near Banovići and caused damage of about 1,000 KM, and they broke into another vehicle from which they stole certain items and damaged the owner.
Investigators from the Criminal Police Department of the Banovići PU undertook a series of operational and investigative actions aimed at elucidating and documenting these criminal acts, and deprived the suspects of their liberty in the afternoon of April 12. After the criminal investigation, they were handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office.
The acting prosecutor ordered the investigation and interrogated the Jamakovićs.
