The Prosecution of the Brčko District of BiH has requested the District’s Basic Court for three people who were deprived of freedoms for suspicion of human trafficking.
Detention was requested for the owner of the house, her son and another person who helped the babysitting.
LABRIK District of BiH Radmilo Ivanović said the journalists today that custody for these persons were asked to be afraid to destroy, hide, forge evidence and repeat or complete the criminal offense of trafficking.
– For the trafficking, the sentence of prison has been threatened ten years and more, and the criminal offense of neglecting or abuse of the child is angling imprisonment for up to three years. The Basic Court is obliged to make a decision to detention within 24 hours – said Ivanović.
Speaking of five people who are subsequently deprived of their liberty during the investigation on this case, he stated that the District Prosecutor’s Office will make them a decision whether and requested detention for them.
– It is about the persons who present that parents or relatives of children who were found, but the prosecution has no reliable evidence that these are really their children. We will find this subsequently – says Ivanović and adds that the police will intensively carry out the investigation into the criminal offense.
Ivanović says that a meeting with the Mayor of Brcko and the Police Chief of Insurance for long-term secure accommodation is scheduled for today.
– Children’s examination was performed and were found to have certain parasites and medically disposed of – stated Ivanović, confirming that there were gynecological examinations in certain girls in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
He added that children have not yet been identified and that the police in cooperation with other agencies will check data.
– We do not have reliable information about what children do or know who their parents are – says Ivanović.
