At the request of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton, the judge for the preliminary proceedings of the Municipal Court in Živinice ordered a measure of detention for Nail Jusić (59) from Živinice due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that, as the chairman of the City Council of Živinice, he committed two criminal offenses of abuse of position and authority in connection with the criminal offense of receiving a reward or other forms of benefits for influence peddling.
˝Jusić is suspected of having, in the period from 2023 to March 2026, acted as chairman of the Živinica City Council, by abusing his position and authority, in three separate cases, favoring other persons in order to benefit them. This included irregularities in the appointment of one person to the City Election Commission, an attempt to obtain benefits in the process of obtaining ownership rights over a plot of land on which an object was built without the right of use, as well as trading in influence for the purpose of appointing his son to a permanent committee of the City Council of Živinica, said the spokesman of the Prosecutor’s Office, Admir Arnautović.
We remind you that by order of the Prosecutor’s Office and with the order of the Municipal Court in Živinice, investigators of the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of TK conducted searches at several locations in Živinice, after which Jusić was deprived of his liberty. During the search, mobile devices, certain documents and other items suspected of being used or originating from the commission of criminal offenses were found and confiscated.
The acting prosecutor issued an order to conduct an investigation that includes the mentioned three actions, questioned the suspect about these circumstances, and the investigative actions in this case will continue in the following period.
