Asian-Pacific markets on Friday were mixed while investors analyzed data on Chinese trading for April.
Chinese exports increased in April, even as the companies filed the highest burden of the American tariffs that last month took a higher momentum, while import reduced the fall because Peking intensified incentive measures.
Exports rose by 8.1% in US dollars in April compared to the same month last year, the official data showed, significantly exceeding the growth forecast of 1.9% in the Reuters’ survey.
Hong Kong Hang Seng Index fell by 0.15%, while Chinese CSI 300 dropped by 0.22%.
Uncertainty about achieving an agreement between Washington and Beijing in the scheduled trade negotiations in Switzerland also reduces optimism, seebiz.
The Japanese Nikkei 225 reference index increased by 1.42, and TOPIX for 1.06%. South Korean Kospi added 0.3%, and the shares of small market capitalization Kosdaq fell by 0.59%.
Australian S & P / ASX 200 traded without a change.
Indian Nifty 50 fell by 0.74% on opening.
