Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry has good relations with the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but Bosnian government should be more active in this field, especially when it comes to the private sector, said Hamad J. Al-Omar, deputy director of Kuwait Chamber, during the meeting with Bosnian journalists.
Al-Omar said cooperation with BiH companies should increase, stating that they signed a protocol with BiH Foreign Trade Chamber in 2004, and that they had already held several meetings.
“Bosnian and Kuwaiti companies need to work together, whether in Kuwait or in Bosnia. Kuwait is a free and open market. We are interested in cooperation with BiH companies,” said Al-Omar.
He added the interest and desires for such cooperation must be mutual. Particular focus of interest of Kuwaiti businessmen are areas of real estate, infrastructure, agriculture, the medical sector and education.
A major international trade fair with the participation of 200 companies from 20 countries worldwide will be organized in Kuwait from 21 to 27 February.
Al-Omar underlines that, so far, they have not received the application from Bosnian companies, but it’s still possible to apply.
“It will be an opportunity for the exchange of information and businesses”, he said.
