The shares rose on Monday because the main technological names were on the target of customers, while traders looked away from the latest American threat to customs by the President Donald Trump.
Dow Jones Industrial Average added 167.01 points, or 0.38%, led by the growth of McDonald’s of 4.8%. The 30 shares index concluded to 44,470.41. The S & P 500 strengthened 0.67% and ended at 6,066.44, and Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.98% to 19,714.27.
The market is still nervously due to the mixture of concern for inflation and concerns about how Trump’s customs plan could negatively affect the American economy.
Trump told reporters on Sunday that he planned to publish a general customs duties on Monday from 25 percent to all imports of steel and aluminum. Trump did not specify when customs were introduced and noted that they would also issue return customs for countries taxing from the US. The news comes after Trump’s previously announced duties towards China.
Steel and aluminum shares jumped. US Steel and Nucor rose 4.8% and 5.6%. Cleveland-Cliffs climbed almost 18%, and Alcoa finished the day 2.2% in the plus, SEEbiz reports.
The shares of chips producers have also risen because mood appeared to be repaired after the sale of technological shares in late January, encouraged by concerns about the appearance of Chinese Ai Launcher Deepseek. Nvidia received 2.9%, while Broadcom and Micron added 4.5% and 3.9%. Megacap Technological names Alphabet, Amazon and Microsoft were also higher.
“Volatility around Deepseek and concerns do not spoil our positive chances of risky property, especially in the United States, we expect long-term tariff title and potentially adoption in April in the USA, but we reserve 6500 as a S & P 500 target for the end years, “said JPMorgan’s head of the Fabio Bassi Cross Property Strategy in Note for Clients.
