Police officers of the Brčko District Police of BiH deprived one person of their liberty due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of “Sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 15”, the District Police confirmed today.
After the Police of Brčko District of BiH was given on 16.04.2026. It was reported that the criminal offense of “Sexual intercourse with a child under 15 years of age” had been committed for a long period of time, the police officers immediately took investigative measures and actions in connection with the aforementioned report, which confirmed the existence of grounds for suspicion that the aforementioned criminal offense had been committed, according to the police statement.
On the same day, police officers deprived one person of their liberty due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they had committed the criminal offense of “Sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 15” from Article 207d paragraph (4) of the Criminal Code of the Brčko District of BiH, which, together with the report on the committed criminal act, was handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Brčko District of BiH, which submitted a proposal for detention to the Basic Court of the Brčko District of BiH.
– Bearing in mind the legal provisions in proceedings in criminal cases against perpetrators of criminal offenses against children and minors, as well as the universal rights of the child, we remind you of the obligation to act especially carefully, in order to avoid further harmful consequences and protect the interests of the child – said the Brčko District Police.
