Boban Kusturić, the head of the Aviation Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, allegedly committed suicide last night. As BN learns, Kusturić was found in the cottage by a friend. Other details are unknown. An investigation is underway by members of the Banjaluka Police Department and the prosecutor on duty. The first unofficial information about the case said that Kusturić committed suicide by hanging and that he was found by a friend in a summer house.
Then unofficial information appeared that Kusturić committed suicide with a gun. It is interesting that no one from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska has spoken about the case until midnight, even though it is the non-head of the Aviation Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska.
BN reminds that this administration was recently formed under the MUP of the RS, after the aviation service of the RS, which was previously under the jurisdiction of the Government of the Republika Srpska, was shut down. Kustirić was considered to be Dodik’s pilot, who for years mostly drove him around the region by helicopter.
Boban Kusturić was born on September 8, 1974. in Banja Luka. He graduated from the Military Academy of the Yugoslav Army – Department of Air Defense and Air Defense in Belgrade in 1997 and earned the title of aviation officer – pilot. He worked as a pilot in the Army of Republika Srpska from 1997 to 2005.
After that, he continued his work in the Directorate for Civil Air Navigation of the Republic of Srpska as the head of the Rescue Helicopter Unit “SAR” – Republika Srpska.
He performed the duties of director of the Helicopter Service of the Republic of Srpska from 2008 to April 2025, and after its reorganization and the formation of the Aviation Administration, he performed the duties of the head of the administration. He was awarded the Order of Miloš Obilić by the President of the Republic of Srpska.
He is married and the father of one child.
