The Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) Jasmina Selimović, within the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank continued a series of bilateral meetings with senior officials of international financial institutions.
Selimović held a meeting with Eugene Rhuggenatha, the World Bank Executive Director, which is a constituency in which Bosnia and Herzegovina is located.
During the talks, key topics of CBBH and World Bank cooperation, including financial stability, strengthen institutional capacities and the improvement of the investment environment were discussed.
BH special attention. The governor devoted talks on the importance of the implementation of the uniform field of payment in euros (SEPA) for BiH, in order to significantly improve the country’s integration into the European financial market and facilitated cross-border payment transactions and economies.
At the meeting with Antonella Bassani, the World Bank Deputy Prime Minister and Central Asia discussed economic challenges in the region, with a focus on green transition, energy security and resilience economies on external shocks.
On that occasion, Selimović emphasized the importance of macroeconomic stability and preservation of the monetary policy-based and trust policy, as key factors for the long-term development and integration of BiH in European economic flows.
Also, she met with Alfred Kammer, by Director of the European IMF Department. The meeting discussed current macroeconomic trends in BiH and Europe, inflationary pressures and geopolitical challenges. The focus of the conversation was supported by the European Integration of the Western Balkans, with an emphasis on BiH, the importance of continuous IMF support is highlighted through the technical assistance and alignment with EU standards.
In addition to bilateral meetings, Selimović attended the meeting of the Constituence of the Dutch-Belgian Group, which also belongs to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting was an opportunity to coordinate attitudes and exchange of information among the members of the constituence. The Dutch-Belgian constituency brings together the highest representatives of monetary and fiscal policy, and in addition to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Bulgaria, Belgium, Montenegro, Kyar, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Moldova, Ukraine, Netherlands, Romania and Andorra.
