What the investigators of the Homicide Department, as well as the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office already suspected, has now apparently received its confirmation: the businessman Ismet K., who was kidnapped in Reinnikendorf at the end of April, has been killed.
According to information from the Berliner Zeitung (BZ), his body was found on Friday in a wooded area near Potsdam. Berlin police initially declined to comment.
Let us remind you that on April 23, 2026, 51-year-old Ismet K., a businessman from Bosnia and Herzegovina, was kidnapped in the Weidmanslust district of Berlin (Rijnikendorf municipality). That morning, unknown perpetrators forced him into a white van and drove him in an unknown direction. Since then, the police and the public prosecutor’s office have been investigating the case on suspicion of a violent crime.
As BZ learned from investigative sources, the analysis of data from the 51-year-old’s mobile phone eventually led to the discovery of his body. It was found in a wooded area near the capital of Brandenburg, buried at a depth of more than one meter.
It is believed that the businessman died from severe head and neck injuries. This indicates that it is not a typical kidnapping – according to BZ information, there have been no signs of the kidnappers since his disappearance, nor has his family received a ransom demand.
There is still no sign of the perpetrators. The Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that it would release new information on the case on Tuesday.
