The National Bank of the Czech is considering included a few billion dollars worth Bitcoins in its reserves, said Governor Central Bank Aleš Michl
This would be the first leading of a western central bank, Reuters announced.
According to him, this idea is analyzed and has yet to come to the final decision.
Central banks traditionally store foreign exchange reserves in more conservative types of assets, and many of them have warned of the risks from the use of cryptovaluts in public funds.
Mihl will present this idea to the seven-member advice of the governor on Thursday.
If the Council approved the proposal, the Czech National Bank could hold a maximum of five percent reserves in Bitcoin, which is about 140 billion euros.
