Banks in RS is prohibited to charge for clients of a fee

The proposed Law on Amendments to the Law on the Banks of Republika Srpska, which today identified the RS Government, provides for the introduction of ban on banks to charge several benefits to citizens.

The Assistant Minister of Finance RS Snježana Rudić reminded that the law in the form of the draft has already been adopted at the end of last year.

In addition to harmonization with banking, the intention is to protect users of banking services.

– Our analysis showed that banks have certain bad practices that can grow into bad banking if they are not standardized and that is why we decided to prevent bad practice.

Namely, it was found that in certain cases, there was an impairment of equal value, ie the various levies and fees charged by banks and do not really justify and overcome the benefits of that banking service, Hairdryer transmits.

Thus, these legal changes, as Rudić, prohibits banks to charge the compensation for the sending of the liabilities for the liability of the liability or anything to explain to the banks, and the fee to check the balance on the account.

– There is a practice of charging the balance on the bank account, and at the same time, banks close branches and branches, short hours and force customers to use digital tools – she emphasized.

Another ban on banks was introduced, and that is the collection of cash withdrawal with debit cards at the ATMs of that bank.

– The issue of application of artificial intelligence in the processing of credit requirements was regulated. Namely, banks must use algorithms that must not disinclide from the general rules of the Bank. Also, if the client is not satisfied with the outcome of the credit wire processing, he will have the right to decide on his request to decide the classic credit committee composed of people – Rudić stated.

Legal amendments also envisage the reduction in the rates on the adequacy of banks of banks. He is currently 12 percent, and in the EU, eight percent.

– Our estimates are that it should be reduced, but gradually. It goes straight to 10 percent and not immediately with the entry into force of the law, as early as 31. December 2026. – explained Rudić.

She added that the RS Banking Agency has a legal tool to introduce an application for an increase in the increase in the higher and minimums of the legal, if it finds that there is a risk.
