Asia-Pacific markets traded mixed on Friday, after US stocks fell overnight, while Nvidia shares fell despite a quarterly earnings drop.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 0.6%, while the Topix was unchanged. Japan’s benchmark index hit 59,000 for the first time on Thursday before paring gains slightly.
South Korea’s Kospi fell 1.1%, while the Kosdaq, an index of small companies, fell 0.35%.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose 0.68%, while the CSI 300 fell 0.49%.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 was unchanged in early trading, SEEbiz reports.
Asian tech stocks fell in early trading. SK Hynix, a key supplier of high-bandwidth memory to Nvidia, fell more than 2%. Samsung Electronics, a longtime partner of Nvidia, fell by 0.69%.
SoftBank Group, a major investor in artificial intelligence companies, fell more than 3%.
