The Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, after conducting and concluding the investigation, filed an indictment against Anis Kalajdžić (born in 1992), from Mostar, due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of “aggravated murder of a female person”, in conjunction with the criminal offense of “unauthorized acquisition, possession or sale of weapons or essential parts for weapons”.
The indictment accuses Kalajdžić of long-term and systematic abuse, stalking and death threats addressed to two people. According to the allegations in the indictment, in the period from September 2024 to January 2025, the accused repeatedly threatened his ex-girlfriend NM with death.
After that, from October to mid-November 2025, Kalajdžić directed aggressive actions towards the second victim, ex-girlfriend AJ. The indictment describes in detail the break-ins into the apartment, physical violence, stalking in front of the fitness center, and messages through communication applications in which he stated that the victim “will only be his or nobody’s” and that he owns a firearm.
On 16.11.2025. at around 18:00 at the bus station in Mostar, after he had previously acquired a gun that he kept with him without authorization, he waited for AJ, who was training there, in front of the fitness center, and hit her several times in the head and chest.
Fearing for her own life, AJ ran in the direction of the hotel “T..”, Trg Ivana Krndelja bb in Mostar, fearing for her safety, she told passers-by in fear to call the police because a man was following her and threatening her with a gun, and then she entered the restaurant “B..” and called the police on her cell phone. During that time, the defendant came and found the victim in the toilet while she was trying to call for help again, so the defendant approached her and, firing a gun in the direction of her temple, inflicted fatal injuries from which the victim died on the spot, according to the indictment.
The prosecution will prove the allegations of the indictment by examining a large number of witnesses and experts, and by submitting a large number of material evidence.
The defendant Anis Kalajdžić is in custody, which was extended by the decision of the Cantonal Court in Mostar, announced the Mostar Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office.
