The Acting Prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Turkish Republic of Turkey submitted a motion to the Tuzla Cantonal Court for the determination of a one-month detention measure for Salim Kovačević (34), Osman Salihović (42), Vildan Salihović (22) and Ibrahim Šabuljić (25), all from Miričina near Gračanica, due to the existence of an established suspicions that as accomplices they committed the criminal offense of grievous bodily harm, and after four days, Senad Smajić (66) from Miričine died in UKC Tuzla.
˝They are suspected that on January 11, 2025, around 2:00 a.m., after having a verbal conflict with the injured party in a catering facility in Miričina, they took advantage of the opportunity when the SS came out to the parking lot in front of the facility, knowing that they could easily to injure him physically and seriously damage his health, and what they wanted, they approached the injured party and jointly hit him with fists and feet in the head and body, and when the SS fell on the concrete unconscious condition, they continued to hit him with their feet and hands all over his body. When the SS managed to get up from the ground, the suspect Salim Kovačević hit him in the face with his fist, which caused him to fall on the concrete again and remained lying unconscious. This is how they inflicted severe, life-threatening injuries on him, and as a result of the head injury, the victim died on January 15 in Tuzla University Hospital, announced Admir Arnautović, spokesman for the TK Prosecutor’s Office.
Police officers from the Gračanica Police Department went to the scene immediately after receiving the report and conducted an investigation. After that, according to the instructions of the acting prosecutor, they carried out a series of operational and investigative actions in order to determine all the circumstances related to these complex events with a large number of participants, and the investigative actions lasted for several days. According to the order of the prosecutor and the order of the competent court, after the identification of the suspects, searches were carried out in the buildings where they live, and they were deprived of their liberty. After carrying out the criminal investigation, the investigators of the OKP of the PU of Gračanica submitted to this Prosecutor’s Office a report on the committed criminal offense with more than 80 accompanying material evidence. By order of the prosecutor, an autopsy was performed on the body of the deceased in order to determine the exact causes of death.
The acting prosecutor ordered the investigation and interrogated the suspects.
