A woman from Zenica is among the one percent of the most intelligent people in the world!

Slobodanka Omerović (42), who was born in Smederevska Palanka and has lived in Zenica for years, recently took an IQ test, which officially became a member of Mensa BiH, achieving a result that can only be achieved by 1 percent of the world’s population. This woman from Zenica points out that even as a child she showed talent at school, since everything went her way.

Difficult tasks

– I mastered the material from all subjects with ease. I participated in competitions in physics, mathematics, geography… The only place where I had a problem was physical education – says Omerović.

Since she won first place in all competitions and was among the best at school, everyone considered her a “child prodigy”.

She took her first IQ test at the age of 14, when she was in the first grade of high school. Then she achieved a score of 135, which was also above average. After that, she was no longer tested, but, as she says, she continued to “train” her brain. She read a lot, solved crossword puzzles, difficult tasks and equations, brain teasers…

In the meantime, she graduated from university, is finishing her master’s degree, and works as a lecturer at her foreign language school “Linguateam”. The other day she saw an online IQ test on Facebook.

Mock test

– By chance, a post from Mensa appeared for me to take a trial test. When I finished the test, I got the result that my IQ is between 140 and 160. Immediately after that, I received an invitation to come to Sarajevo for the test. A few days later, I received the results that I achieved an IQ of 156 according to the Katel scale. Being among the 1 percent of people in the world is a special feeling – emphasizes Omerović.

Mensa BiH states that they do not have accurate data on how many above-average intelligent people there are in our country.

A child prodigy

– My parents and friends always said that I was a child prodigy, which meant that I got A’s. It was the same at university, where I got tens, which used to bother me – recalls Omerović.
