Concert for peace performed by eminent opera house La Scala from Milan was held tonight in Sarajevo National Theatre.
La Scala performed in Sarajevo to mark 20th anniversary of the end of the war in our country and to send a message of unity to the future generations.
Numerous guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy and other countries walked the red carpet in front of the National Theatre.
“We wish La Scala reaches everyone. Through the concert which will be broadcast on the large screens at the squares, both in Sarajevo and Mostar, as well as on European televisions, music will symbolically unite millions of people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Europe. It will be a European repertoire for a European capital – Sarajevo,” said Italian Ambassador to BiH Ruggero Corrias.
Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said Italy organized the concert to give Bosnians a hopeful message that their future is a peaceful one in Europe.
